Pirates Of The Caribbean Producer Addresses Possible Johnny Depp Return

Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, has been a fan favorite since the first film, and Jerry Bruckheimer, the film's producer, has addressed whether or not fans can expect to see him in the sixth installment.
Depp's con artist pirate first appeared in 2003, and he has since appeared in every film in the series.
The franchise was effectively placed on hold after the underwhelming reaction of 2017's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Depp's following legal difficulties with ex-wife Amber Heard.
There has been speculation about a sixth film in the franchise for years, but it has never been made and Johnny Depp has stated that he has no interest in returning.

Bruckheimer has addressed the possibility of Depp's return as Sparrow in the next Pirates of the Caribbean episode, following the recent revelation that the film starring Margot Robbie has been placed on hold.
Bruckheimer is cautious in a recent interview with AP Entertainment, although he does hint that development is continuing behind the scenes.
Read on for Bruckheimer's entire response to a question about a possible Depp return:

We're still trying to figure things out.
Even though we haven't made any major progress toward a script just yet, we're still taking tiny steps in that direction.

If Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is going to recapture the series' lost enchantment, Jack Sparrow can't be expected to do it all by himself.
Both Elizabeth and Will made a cameo appearance in the most recent episode, although they had minor roles and ultimately had little impact on the plot.
Either make an effort to give both of these original characters larger roles in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, or leave them out entirely to make place for new characters.
The first two movies made an effort to introduce some new characters for fans to cheer for, but they weren't quite as interesting as Will and Elizabeth.

Depp's comeback would undoubtedly please many fans of the franchise, albeit the fate of Pirates of the Caribbean 6 has yet to be determined.
It's also conceivable that Depp won't want to return at all, in which case the picture would have to figure out how to continue without Sparrow, which is easier said than done.
Bruckheimer's confirmation that the script for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 has not even been written means that it will be a while before fans learn about Depp's comeback.
