"Reunite The Dyad!" Star Wars Fans Want Adam Driver Back As Kylo Ren In New Jedi Order

Many people are hoping that Adam Driver will reprise his role as Kylo Ren in the New Jedi Order film that will star Rey. Daisy Ridley will reprise her role as Rey 15 years after the Skywalker saga's finale in Star Wars: Episode IX — The Last Jedi. After Emperor Palpatine is finally vanquished, the New Jedi Order will recognize Rey as a Jedi Master and entrust her with the task of reconstructing the Jedi Order.

Many Star Wars fans have taken to Twitter to voice their desire for Adam Driver's Kylo Ren to reappear in the upcoming film, New Jedi Order. After their passionate kiss at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, many fans online hope to see the former First Order Supreme Leader and Rey reunite. Here are some comments from devoted readers:

Kylo Ren's absence from New Jedi Order would be strange given how integral he was to Rey's story in the previous films in the trilogy. In the last moments of The Rise of Skywalker, Ben Solo gave up his position as Supreme Leader of the First Order and stopped using the alias Kylo Ren. Ben's corpse dissipates into the Force when he sacrifices himself to save Rey's life after Palpatine's defeat.

Since the events in New Jedi Order take place 15 years after the fall of the Final Order, it seems implausible that Rey would have reconnected with Ben in that time. Ben's death ensured Rey's survival, thus he probably isn't still alive somewhere in the galaxy despite our aspirations to the contrary. If this turns out to be the truth, he may yet make an appearance as a Force ghost in the movie.

However, there is still no proof that the disintegration of Ben's body indicates he is permanently gone. The Star Wars saga has a history of resurrecting dead characters, most notably Darth Maul and the Emperor. Ben's gradual oblivion provides additional evidence of his demise, but there's always the chance that the notorious Star Wars retcon may bring him back. Rey's close relationship with Ben in the second trilogy increases the likelihood that he will join the New Jedi Order in some manner, whether he is alive or dead.
