No Hard Feelings, starring Jennifer Lawrence, is a new R-rated comedy film that will debut in theatres exclusively in 2019.
The release date for Jennifer Lawrence's next R-rated comedy film has been set.
No Hard Feelings is being directed by Gene Stupnisky, who most recently oversaw the production of the mystery/adventure film Good Boys.
Stupnisky is working on the screenplay alongside John Phillips, who is also serving as executive producer.
Lawrence will not only appear in the movie, but will also produce it alongside Alex Saks, Marc Provissiero, and Naomi Odenkirk.
Despite strong competition from other studios and major streaming services, Sony Pictures was able to get the rights to No Hard Feelings in October 2021.
The movie's plot is presently being kept under wraps, although Sony has indicated the film would be a "R-rated comedy with heart," a vague statement that belies the lack of specifics.
Nonetheless, Deadline claims the film will be a "raunchy" comedy in the vein of There's Something About Mary and Bad Teacher, the latter of which Stupnitsky also co-wrote.
The premiere of the new comedy is set for June 16, 2023.
