Why Aren't There More Pugs in Movies?

Think about the number of dogs you see in films. Since the days of Charlie Chaplin's A Dog's Life, man's best friend has been a staple on the silver screen, whether in classics like Homeward Bound or contemporary box office smashes like A Dog's Purpose. One of the year's best-kept secrets is a film simply titled "Dog." It's not uncommon to see German Shepherds or Golden Retrievers in feature films, with a few exceptions, such as Marry Me, Dick, or The Game Plan, where they serve as a supporting comedic relief role. Pugs, on the other hand, are conspicuously missing from this depiction. It's a mystery to me why this gorgeous canine species is so seldom included in mainstream cinematic releases.

For the most part, the lack of pugs in movies may be explained by the features they appear in. While one pug had a key role as the pet of the film's title character, another appeared in the film version of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park. There's a sense of historical or literary accuracy in the inclusion of pugs in these productions. The disappearance of Marie Antoinette's beloved pugs would have sparked a public outcry. Not to diminish the importance of these cinematic pugs, but rather to highlight how movies with pugs in them tend to have external causes influencing their existence.

It is interesting to note that pugs are often utilized to indicate that a film is set in either the past or future. In today's world, the mere existence of this creature onscreen might instantly imply to the viewer that they are seeing something set in a different time period or universe. This may be done by using pugs for blink-and-miss-it appearances in high fantasy films like The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. In the meanwhile, futuristic films like Isle of Dogs, Dune, and Brazil use pugs as a shorthand for the "weirdness" of an uncertain future. As a result, modern-day pugs aren't as common as they used to be in the past.

In the modern world, even films like Men in Black employ pugs as a visual cue to indicate abnormality. In this title, Frank, the legendary cinematic pug, may be found. Once again, a pug serves as a visual shorthand for an anomaly from the "normal" environment in this mouthy extraterrestrial figure. Every time a pug shows up, it's a symbol of absurdity, no matter what historical period. There's a reason they can't simply come up at random places: Even in realistic dramas like Richard Linklater or Jim Jarmusch, the visual coding for pugs has grown so widespread and indelible that it has a potential to upend the piece's controlled realism.

In part, the lack of popularity of pugs is why they've been used in movies so often. Among the most popular dog breeds in 2021, the American Kennel Club lists a diverse range of canines in the top spots. This includes German shepherds, poodles, and even corgis, who are known for their unusual breeds. There were no Pugs in the top three, but Shetland sheepdogs and border collies did make it into the top thirty-three. As long as pugs remained America's most popular dog breed, movie companies would be more likely to take advantage of a large audience. In light of the fact that pugs are now ranked low on the popularity scale for dogs, there is little incentive to modify their cinematic representation.

Also, pugs are known for their odd appearance, which has led to their frequent usage as a symbol for weird situations and circumstances. Pugs are a mix between an anatomical nightmare and an attractive sausage, with smushed noses, fat tummies, and eyes so enormous that they seem like billiard balls. That is great for cuddling or simply watching them run about, but not for Hollywood's expectations for dogs in terms of appearance. Canines, like human stars, face a high hurdle when it comes to being deemed "suitable" to star in major motion movies.

Because they seem more "natural," dogs like German shepherds and golden retrievers are often used in film projects because their grunting and snoring won't overpower the film's audio. The breeds listed above can also do impressive physical feats with ease. Think about how many dog movies, like The Call of the Wild or Marley & Me, are based on larger-sized live-action or CGI dogs that can jump over trees or sprint across wheat fields without taking a breath.. Imagine any of the famous canine movie plots being performed by a pug.. Having a pug at the heart of one of these movies is possible, but it would need a major shift in Hollywood's canine movie paradigm. Movies often exclude pugs from the cast because of the restricted concept of a "legitimate" canine protagonist.

And there's that pug-related dispute, notably that pugs' particular look and physical attributes are the product of breeding that make daily living a misery for pugs. As a consequence, groups like PETA have criticized Vodafone for employing pugs in its adverts, arguing that the company's frivolous usage of pugs minimizes the problems pugs face on a daily basis. Constant PETA-related criticism is suspicious at best because of PETA's own canine-handling controversies. For executives at movie studios, however, the possibility of a public relations nightmare due to the difficulties associated with producing pugs does not improve the image of these dogs.

In film history, only a small number of pugs have managed to get it to the big time, like Frank from Men in Black or Monchi from The Mitchell vs. The Machines. Since then, these dogs have shown the variety of amusement they can provide for people. Even though pugs deserve a consistent cinematic spotlight, they're held back by a multitude of factors. In contrast to German shepherds and golden retrievers, pugs are normally used only in biopics or to imply that a movie takes place in a "weird" environment. Perhaps in the future, there will be a broad range of films in which pugs appear, a reflection of how diverse the personalities of pugs are.

Until then, pug fans will have to settle with Frank, Monchi, and of course, the Saturday Night Live segment about pug wigs.

Nicholas Hoult's Best Performances From 'About A Boy' to 'The Great'

All-around actor Nicholas Hoult. Hoult is equally at home on the big, small, stage, or in front of the camera in any setting. Hoult began his career as an actor at a young age, and his breakthrough role as Hugh Grant in About a Boy was his first on the big screen. Throughout his career, he has gained a large following because to his youthful good looks and charismatic demeanor. He and Nicolas Cage will appear in Robert Kirkman's Renfield, a film based on the comic book series The Walking Dead. Until we get to them, here are 11 of the actor's most memorable roles.

Character Analysis: Beast from X-Men: First Class (2011)
X-Men Hoult's Days of Future Past.
For the death of his mother, mutant Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) has set out on a road of vengeance. If Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) can't be stopped from unleashing nuclear war, Erik will join up with other mutants and an extraordinarily strong telepath in order to do it. Erik, on the other hand, is unable to abandon his violent road of retribution because of a breach in his values with Charles.

This prequel to the X-Men franchise, X-Men: First Class, has reignited interest in the series and has become a tremendous box office hit worldwide. There have been four further films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a result of this film. Henry "Hank" McCoy, AKA the Beast, a genius who has been transformed into a blue, super-strong beast, is the sole role in which Nicholas Hoult appears. All three sequels had Hoult reprising his role, but regrettably, his on-screen romance with Jennifer Lawrence (Raven) did not last.

About a Boy's Marcus Brewer (2002)
It's about a Young Man
He is ridiculed and humiliated for being a little different at school, and Marcus Brewer (Hoult) has to deal with it. Marcus blackmails Will Freeman (Grant), a womanizing layabout, when his mother, Fiona Brewer (Toni Collette), attempts to take her own life. Will develops a strong relationship with Marcus and does all he can to help him integrate into society and escape the harassment he receives. Finally seeing how infantile Will is, Marcus compels Will to grow up for a mere lad.

Hoult was only 11 years old when he starred in About a Boy, but his confidence is evident to everyone. He seemed unfazed by the prospect of working alongside Hugh Grant, and his serious manner was clearly above his years. All in all a great big screen debut that enabled him to jump between the small screen and big screen till Clash of the Titans, his first major movie arrived.

In The Great (2020–present), Peter III is Emperor.
This is a featured image from Hulu of the great Nicholas Harold.
It's safe to say that Catherine (Elle Fanning) is the luckiest Russian girl alive. She has just wed Russia's Emperor, Peter III, in a lavish ceremony in Moscow (Hoult). Peter, on the other hand, just wants an heir since life as a king isn't exactly what it should be. Catherine is no longer more than an item at the Russian royal court. No one knows what will happen to Catherine if she tries to overthrow the Emperor and become Russia's longest-reigning female ruler.

The humorous perspective is that it's a historical drama, but it's not like any other time in Russian history. Funny takes on actual people doing unbelievable things. Jeremy Renner and Nicholas Hoult both shine as the self-centered machinator hell-bent on self-preservation and securing Russia's absolute dominance, with Fanning particularly impressive as the gullible monarch who isn't nearly as sharp or talented as he believes he is. Arrogance, wit and charm abound in this other past.

Sand Castle's Private Matt Ocre (2016)
Nicholas Hoult's Sand Castle
Private Matt Ocre (Hoult) fractures his own hand to escape combat in the early days of the Iraq war. After months of recuperation, Private Ocre is compelled to return to duty. Capt. Syverson (Henry Cavill) of the Special Forces will need Ocre and his team to restore a critical water line. Each side is looking for a way out, and they perceive each other as the adversary. Allies and foes alike are unsure of whom to trust.

American military personnel are seen in Sand Castle attempting to clean up their mess and the issues of mistrust left by conflict. Even if the usual rock music and careless remarks don't do justice to troops in a combat zone, it does provide a short glimpse into the misery of war, and Hoult conveys his character's disgust for it in a subtle and convincing manner.

Equality: Sila in the film (2015)
Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult are an equals.
After seeing coworker Nia (Kristen Stewart) seem to have an emotional reaction to someone's death, Silas (Hoult) realizes that his life is about to change for the better. Silas has been diagnosed with level one emotional disorder, which is described as a "disease" by his doctors. The two begin to confide in one other once Nia realizes she may be infected with the "sickness." When it comes to stopping these people, will society do all it can?

The film's aesthetics are on par with the message it conveys. The scenery and sceneries have been stripped of color in order to emphasize their whiteness. In spite of the fact that it's a stylised romance, Hoult and Stewart's forbidden love is enough to keep the movie interesting.

SNEAK PEEK: Tony Stonem in Skins

A group of young people confronts life's difficulties head-on. Drug and alcohol addiction, gender, mortality, and mental illness are just a few of the issues the gang has to cope with over the two years of sixth-form. If anything bad occurs, Tony Stonem (Hoult) will be a part of the aftermath in some way. What's the point of having friends?

British teen-comedy drama Skins follows a group of high school students who are preparing for their A-level exams. Rather than shying away from difficult subjects, it takes a sleek, polished, and merciless approach. Actor Chris Hoult portrays a pleasant but selfish, headstrong youngster who burns through his character arc, only to wind up a ghost of his former self. Teenage years certainly are the most challenging.

R in Warm Bodies (2013) (2013)

Years after the zombie apocalypse, R (Hoult) and other zombies, including his closest buddy M, roam the floors of an airport every day (Rob Corddry). But when he runs upon Julie (Teresa Palmer), who is also seeking for food, R gets more than he bargained for while searching for human brains. R's heart is beating for the first time since his death. Is it possible for a zombie to develop feelings for a human?

Tosses much of what we know about zombies out of the window in this hilarious and wacky twist on the overdone genre, Warm Bodies. As a young zombie attempting to make it in the zombie apocalypse and as a zombie trying to persuade the love of his life that he is progressively becoming more human, Hoult displays complete control. It's a heartwarming and hilarious romantic comedy that seems like it was a lot of fun to produce.

On the Mad Max: Fury Road, Nux (2015)

"Imperator Furiosa" resolves to break free of her captor, "Immortan Joe," and release his five wives in the process, amid a barren planet. Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), a vagabond, and Nux (Benedict Cumberbatch), a psychopathic war-boy hired to murder Furiosa, are both caught up in the chaos. Capable (Riley Keough), one of the spouses, helps Nux find some direction in his life when he fails his goal. Immortan Joe, on the other hand, will not give up until he sees his wife again.

Among Hoult's wildest and most creative performances is this one. Because he lacks perspective on his role in the universe, Nux is doomed to failure in his attempts to impress Immortan Joe. An excellent action movie with an outstanding part for Hoult.

Casey Stein collides with another person (2016)
collide-nicholas-hoult-felicity-jones
For the sake of his girlfriend, Juliette Marne (Felicity Jones), Casey Stein (Hoult) is desperate to raise money for her life-saving kidney transplant. Casey's only problem is that he's broke. With no other options, Hagen Kahl (Anthony Hopkins), Germany's most feared drug dealer, decides to take advantage of his connections and steal from him, which may not be the best idea.

What's the big deal about Collide's box office failure? Nicholas Hoult plays a starring role in this action-packed thriller despite the fact that it doesn't have a place in the annals of cinematic history as the finest ever written by William Shakespeare. It has big names, high-quality performances, and a fair bit of suspense to keep us intrigued.

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2019)

J. R. R. Tolkien (Nicholas Hoult) is taken into the care of Father Francis Morgan when he is a young orphan (Colm Meaney). Edith Bratt (Lily Collins) is the love of Tolkien's life after he is placed in a stable family by the Father. At King's College, he meets lifelong companions and forms the TCBS, a literary group. His love of mythology and language fuels his friendships and romantic relationships, and his exposure to the horrors of World War I broadens his artistic perspective.

Hoult's portrayal of J.R.R. Tolkien, the man who revolutionized fantasy and became the unquestioned monarch of the genre, is a remarkable achievement. Even if some sequences feature Tolkien seeing the creatures he would go on to write about, these moments should not be seen as gimmicks but as lyrical representations of a youthful and interesting guy. Whether it helps because of his own confident personality, Hoult, without sure, plays the scholarly Tolkien easily.

In The Favourite, Harley (2018)

An English-French conflict breaks out in the early 1700s. When she becomes bored with her courtly responsibilities, Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) chooses to spend time with her bunnies instead. Her cousin Abigail (Emma Stone) is the Queen's new favorite, but Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) sees a chance to reclaim her ladyship from Abigail. Aside from Abigail, Harley (Hoult) sees a way to gain favor with the Queen by using her. Personal riches and amusement are more important than England at this point.

It was Colman's depiction of Queen Anne that earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress. With Hoult's grim humor, the slow and methodical story unfolds with a gloomy yet amusing diversion. Even if it isn't true, The Favourite is a thrilling diversion from the often stale subject matter of history because of its clever and wicked humor.

When Britney Spears starred in "Crossroads," it elevated the pop star movie to a new level

For decades, musicians have been stepping into the role of actors on the big screen. Rock bands experimented with their art on film in the 60's and 70's, crooners like Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra appeared in movies, Elvis had a tremendous impact on cinema, and Michael Jackson had Moonwalker in the 80's, which was the beginnings of a change. While some of the musicals artists starred in were unconnected to their discographies, as time went on, the ventures they appeared in became custom-built vanity productions whose primary aim was to expand the empires of its stars, sometimes at the cost of true enjoyment. In the 1990s, pop star movies were a good example of this. Mariah Carey's self-esteem soared thanks to the critically panned Glitter, which featured the Spice Girls and a backup dance crew decked out in assless pyjamas singing Gary Glitter songs. Cinema concerts began to take over in the early 2000s, when S Club 7 released their bizarre clone movie.

On the night of their high school prom, childhood friends Lucy (Britney Spears), Mimi (Taryn Manning), and Kit (Zoe Saldana) make a pledge to dig up a time capsule they buried as a group in their backyard. After all, they've all gone their own ways and scarcely even acknowledge each other in the school hallways. They rejoin, though, since they have nothing better to do. They giggle at how foolish they once were. A recording contract audition is in the cards for Mimi, and she asks the ladies to join her on the road trip to California. When Kit's fiancé tells her he won't be attending her wedding in LA, she accepts, even though she intends to show up unannounced to the home of her mother, whom she has never met. What is there to lose?

crossroads zie saldana and britney spears Photo courtesy of Paramount Pictures
A typical road movie has them initially having fun, then realizing why they are no longer friends. They then begin to mend fences and eventually become good friends again. Along the way, they do insane things like earn money singing karaoke, stay in crappy hotels, and receive insect bites on their buttocks. It is, however, the release that they all so desperately want. The girls, each in her own way, are engrossed in their overly mature lives when they should be relishing the perks of adolescence. While Kit is shackled to a long-distance relationship, Mimi is struggling to make ends meet and is expecting her first child, Lucy has dedicated her entire life to the pursuit of a medical degree. To cope with their current circumstances, each of them overlooks the fulfillment they could be experiencing, so a spontaneous road trip with friends they haven't seen in a long time turns out to be the release they all truly require.

As Pete, Lucy's hard-working mechanic father (played by Dan Aykroyd), he bears the brunt of the film's humor and pathos. In order to ease his daughter's entry into the highly competitive field of medicine, he has spent years cultivating relationships and providing mates' rates. Because of his strong work ethic and desire for Lucy's success, he doesn't even realize how much she has lost out on, such as friendships and football games. In a way, he's like Dan Aykroyd's Harry Sultenfuss from the My Girl movies, who was far better. He provides the security that young people so sorely need in a society that appears to be bereft of father figures; he even steps in to provide fatherly support to the other girls when their own parents aren't there to do it. A well-functioning and emotionally healthy child may be the result of a strong support system, as he demonstrates.

Years before she became Pennsatucky, the zealot from the bad side of the tracks on OITNB, Taryn Manning worked on Crossroads as an actress. Even though it seems like Mimi's true personality is put into every performance, this may be what makes Mimi such a raw and accessible figure. She is a stunningly genuine character, miserable and despondent, sunk into the mediocrity of her existence. Mimi, in contrast to the swaggering 'bad' juvenile characters, presents a more realistic view of the types of people who may come from poor backgrounds.

It's not long before she became a household name, but Zoe Saldana demonstrates a wonderful talent for humor as Kit. She's the privileged affluent girl who's just finishing off the formalities of high school before becoming a pampered LA housewife. Nothing or anybody in her little village of a thousand people interests her. Instead, she is consumed by the fictitious world she has created in her mind, one that is brought to a grinding halt by cold, harsh reality. It takes a lot of skill and timing for Saldana to pull off the snippy Real Housewives-style snark, but she does it well and convincingly that LA is already overrun with her. For her story to have meaning, she has to show her emotional range, and she emerges as a better person because of it, as opposed to any of the other characters in the film.

Nobody expected Shakespeare from Britney, who was known more for her lip syncing and her attractive appearance in low-rise jeans than for any other type of acting work.. Even yet, Britney's enthusiasm for this endeavor and her desire to demonstrate her skills shine through in her performance. When she's not batting her eyelids and talking in people's ear, she has something to gnaw on in her low-rise pants, which is a rare treat for her. Lucy's vision of showing up at her mother's door and being greeted with open arms goes up in smoke, and she returns dejected to the motel room where the group is sleeping. As soon as her mother essentially informed her she had made a mistake, she breaks into sobs. When Britney sees this, she snatches it and runs with it. With her heartbrokenness on full display, Lucy helps the other characters form stronger bonds with each other by showing her vulnerability.

Everybody was pleased with the outcome of the Crossroads project, except for its primary audience. With the help of Grey's Anatomy showrunner Shonda Rhimes and music video director Tamra Davis, Britney Spears stated her desire to make a movie. As she began to abandon her good Christian girl persona, a coming-of-age film might reflect her growing creative and emotional maturity and serve as validation for her fans as she made the change. Spears turned down several film offers because she wanted to pursue something she was passionate about. For this pivot, the film relies on the usage of Britney Spears music, including "I'm not yet a woman, but a girl," and "Overprotected," which are both extremely on-the-nose songs about the need of making errors in order to grow and embrace the messiness of youth.

CrossroadsImage courtesy of Paramount.
At this point in her career, Britney was mostly seen as a kids' brand; as a result, her departure from the Southern Belle character was met with indignation. Toxic appeal hadn't yet taken hold in the mid-teens, so many kids considered her music old and stale by the time they were teenagers. So why is Crossroads so mature? If parents thought Britney's skimpy costumes were horrible role models, wait till they saw her drinking and having sex outside of marriage in the movies! The movie was out only a few weeks after it was revealed that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were no longer together, further cementing Britney's breakaway from the family-friendly double-denim image. However, more than just one pop singer fighting against her typecast or a pop star movie rebelling against its generally superficial confines were represented by this film.

If a movie dares to look into some of life's darkest issues, it doesn't follow through on its threat. The opposite is true; it seems to be wary of them instead. Mimi's future as a poor teen mother with only a high school education is no longer important because she lost the baby in a tragic accident; Lucy's little excursion jeopardizes the connections she has spent years making to facilitate a medical career, but it's okay because she's now a pop star, a profession renowned for its longevity! Girls go out with a newly released inmate who turns out to be perfectly innocent. For a PG-13 film, the resolutions of the tales of the girls are unrealistically happy. They haven't had a chance to learn from their mistakes since a solution has already been provided for them.

When Mimi was raped and unexpectedly lost her unborn child, how will she deal with the trauma? A career as a singer may seem like a dream come true for Lucy, but is it all she really wants to do? As many of Simon Cowell's victims would testify, winning a talent contest does not guarantee a long-term career. What if she could find methods to combine her job goals with her passion? Isn't it selfish and foolish of her to subject her father through such an ordeal?

It dared to be distinctive despite its accreditation and target market, despite the fact that Crossroads failed to fully examine the repercussions. For all intents and purposes, it wasn't meant to serve as a promotional tool for an album. Britney's image perpetuated an ideal pop star world where meaningful stories didn't exist, so the film wanted to tell a story that didn't fit in. It may not be Stand By Me or a John Hughes film, but it has more intellect and more heart than star vehicle movies ever care to possess, and it proved to be a very wise choice for Britney Spears at a key period in her career. "

Following major creative changes on HBO's "The Idol," director Amy Seimetz has left the show.

The upcoming HBO drama The Idol, which is centered in and around the music industry, will undergo substantial reshoots as the series shifts to a new creative direction, according to an announcement made yesterday. According to Deadline, Amy Seimetz, who had been set to helm all of the series' episodes, has now dropped out.

The Idol is a show created by Sam Levinson, Reza Fahim, and award-winning musician The Weekend, aka Abel Tesfaye, who previously worked on Euphoria. The plot follows a budding pop sensation as she falls in love with an L.A. nightclub owner who is secretly conducting a cult. HBO released a statement yesterday regarding the series' relaunch, stating:

"The Idol creative team is continuing to develop, improve, and grow their vision for the show, and they've agreed on a new artistic direction." To better serve this new approach to the series, the production will change its cast and personnel accordingly. We hope to provide further details in the near future."

Although there has been no official comment on why Seimetz is leaving the project, it appears that she is leaving in the wake of these creative adjustments. Seimetz directed episodes of Atlanta and Outer Range, as well as co-creating and directing the drama series The Girlfriend Experience.

After directing numerous episodes of Euphoria and the Netflix drama Malcolm & Marie, Levinson is likely to play a role in directing the series now.

The Idol was supposed to star Tesfaye and Lily Rose-Depp, with Troye Sivan, Suzanna Son, Steve Zissis, Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Nico Hiraga, and Anne Heche in supporting and recurring parts before the creative makeover. It's unclear how much of this cast will stick around as the show evolves.

Mary Laws and Joseph Epstein co-wrote the series alongside Tesfaye. Laws has written for TV shows such as Preacher and Succession in the past. Epstein will also serve as the show's showrunner. Levinson, Tesfaye, Fahim, Epstein, Ashley Levinson, Kevin Turen, and Aaron L. Gilbert will all serve as executive producers for the series. Wassim "SAL" Slaiby, Tesfaye's manager, and La Mar C. Taylor served as co-executive producers alongside Laws. There's no indication on whether any of these people, including Seimetz, will be quitting the project.

As the specifics of The Idol's creative revamp begin to emerge, keep an eye on Collider for additional updates.

'Blue Bloods' has been renewed for a 13th season on CBS.

Blue Bloods has been on the air for so long that even its mother network CBS laughed about it a few months ago, but fans of the show may rest assured that it will return for another season in the 2022-20023 schedule. The sitcom stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and Bridget Moynahan and follows a family of police officers with a lengthy history in law enforcement.

The renewal isn't surprising, considering Blue Bloods is one of the most popular shows on television, with an average of 9.81 million viewers tuning in every Friday to see which case the Reagan family will take on next. According to CBS, Blue Bloods is the most popular show on Friday nights and is a social media success during the premiere of new episodes.

The Emmy-nominated series is currently in its 12th season and has aired over 250 episodes over the course of its ten-year existence. The popularity of the show suggests that, like Grey's Anatomy, there is no end in sight as long as viewers keep watching. Blue Bloods joins a long list of popular CBS shows that have been renewed, including Young Sheldon, the surprise hit comedy Ghosts, S.W.A.T., CSI Vegas, and a slew of other procedurals that the network has become known for.

Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment, issued an official statement congratulating the cast and writing team on the renewal:

"America's favorite law enforcement first family is returning for season 13!" The Reagans have an uncanny ability to connect with people from all walks of life and across all platforms. And now in its 12th season, with over 250 episodes, 'Blue Bloods' not only maintains its ratings dominance but also shines on a creative level. Week after week, this incredible cast, led by the outstanding Tom Selleck, brings universal and accessible human themes to life, while executive producer Kevin Wade and the talented writing team construct captivating episodes containing the show's distinctive blend of family dynamics and police work. Next season, we hope to see a lot more Reagan family dinners."

Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess, who also worked on The Sopranos, created Blue Bloods. Len Cariou, Will Estes, Marisa Ramirez, and Vanessa Ray also star in the series.

On Friday nights, CBS broadcasts fresh episodes of Blue Bloods. On Paramount+, you can watch all of the episodes of the series.

Justin Lin is no longer the director of 'Fast X.'

That was unexpected: the official The Fast Saga Twitter account announced that a member of the Fast & Furious family will no longer ride with us – at least not in the way we anticipated. Justin Lin, who directed the franchise's first five movies (as well as Star Trek Beyond), has stepped down as director of Fast X.

Lin personally wrote the message, which he describes as a "tough decision." It had to be, because the tenth installment of the franchise is currently in production, with a release date of May 2023. Last Friday, series star Vin Diesel stated that filming had begun, implying that Lin was involved in plotting the entire film. Lin penned:

"With Universal's help, I've made the painful choice to stand down as director of 'Fast X,' while remaining a producer on the film." We've been able to shoot the best actors, stunts, and damn vehicle chases over the course of ten years and five films. On a personal note, as the son of Asian immigrants, I am happy to have contributed to the development of the most diverse film franchise in history. For their support and for bringing me into the FAST family, I will be eternally thankful to the incredible cast, crew, and studio."

Lin's departure is especially perplexing given that he was set to direct not only Fast X, but also the franchise's next two entries. To send Dom Toretto and his buddies out in the most dramatic way imaginable, the final three laps of the Fast & Furious film series are being planned as a trilogy. As various directors take over the movie now that Lin has dropped out, we could see a big shift in tone and direction of the plot.

But not all is lost: while Lin is still listed as a producer, it's likely that he'll have a voice in what happens throughout the plot, though it's difficult to say how much he'll be able to influence the franchise's closing chapters. For the time being, we'll have to wait for more information about his departure.

Fast X also stars Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, and Charlize Theron, as well as Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, and Sung Kang, as well as returning main cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, and Sung Kang. The plot will go deeper into the Toretto family's history.

The release year of Jennifer Lawrence's next R-rated comedy film is set for 2023.

No Hard Feelings, starring Jennifer Lawrence, is a new R-rated comedy film that will debut in theatres exclusively in 2019.

The release date for Jennifer Lawrence's next R-rated comedy film has been set.

No Hard Feelings is being directed by Gene Stupnisky, who most recently oversaw the production of the mystery/adventure film Good Boys.

Stupnisky is working on the screenplay alongside John Phillips, who is also serving as executive producer.

Lawrence will not only appear in the movie, but will also produce it alongside Alex Saks, Marc Provissiero, and Naomi Odenkirk.

Despite strong competition from other studios and major streaming services, Sony Pictures was able to get the rights to No Hard Feelings in October 2021.

The movie's plot is presently being kept under wraps, although Sony has indicated the film would be a "R-rated comedy with heart," a vague statement that belies the lack of specifics.

Nonetheless, Deadline claims the film will be a "raunchy" comedy in the vein of There's Something About Mary and Bad Teacher, the latter of which Stupnitsky also co-wrote.

The premiere of the new comedy is set for June 16, 2023.

The Oldest Disaster Movie Cliche Was Reused Again and Again in "Don't Look Up," Which Was Its Biggest Problem
Lawrence's most recent film, Don't Look Up, received four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture.

In the near future, she'll be working with filmmaker Adam McKay again. McKay is known for films like the famous comedy franchise Step Brothers.

However, No Hard Feelings marks Lawrence's first foray into the world of hard R-rated comedies like Bad Teacher, and it's undoubtedly an interesting addition to the actor's varied career.

The title, No Hard Feelings, indicates a romantic comedy, but details are few.

Hard R designation will definitely spark attention, especially because most theatrical comedies published by big studios are normally classified PG-13, and Jennifer Lawrence's position will likely become apparent in the following months.

The Russos concerns about being welcomed back to Prague after the Gray Man incident.

Action scenes for The Gray Man were filmed in Prague, and the Russo Brothers say they caused major traffic jams.

Producers of "The Gray Man"

Joe and Anthony Russo worry that they may be banned from entering Prague after their involvement in the shooting of The Gray Man.

Joe Russo co-wrote the script for the forthcoming action film The Gray Man, which he and his brother, the other filmmaker, both directed and produced.

Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Billy Bob Thornton are just a few of the A-list actors featured in the film.

A CIA mercenary inadvertently exposes deadly secrets within the organization and is forced to go on the run when a former colleague places a reward on his head and launches a global manhunt.

The Russo brothers have plenty of experience with action films.

They became well-known due to their work inside the MCU, as they directed four key franchise films (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame).

The Gray Man is the second time the Russo siblings have worked with Evans; this time, they did it outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Russo brothers explain why they don't expect to be invited back to Prague anytime soon, and they discuss how they went about filming the film's action sequences.

The Russo brothers, whose press conference SR attended, said that they frequently had to close off highways or crowded regions in order to film their major blockbusters in certain locations.

They are sometimes greeted with wide arms when they arrive in this town.

They "shut down the motorway for two weeks" for filming The Gray Man, and the city of Prague was not pleased.

Read on to hear the whole conversation that took place between Joe and Anthony Russo:
Joseph Russo:

It's noteworthy that every time you enter a town (like we did with Winter Soldier), you have to shut down a motorway.

Everyone was thrilled to return to their own Cleveland for filming.

The highway was closed for two weeks after that and...

That they weren't overjoyed, to paraphrase what I was going to say, is what I was going to say, Anthony Russo.

And then, as Joe Russo puts it, "they weren't happy."

It didn't last long at all.

I doubt we'll ever return to Prague or Cleveland, but we're quite appreciative of the opportunities afforded us by shooting on-site there.

With Billy Bob Thornton in the role of Donald Fitzroy

It's clear that the Russo brothers have captured the enthusiasm that a city's citizens feel when a blockbuster film is shot there.

On the other side, obviously, being a traffic hazard is an unavoidable consequence of shooting elaborate pursuit scenes and action sequences on site.

The Gray Man's action sequences were shot on site, which caused some inconvenience but perhaps paid off in the end.

Critics have given their verdicts on the Netflix picture The Gray Man, and they are not as enthusiastic as the Russo brothers are used to hearing.

Despite the widespread acclaim for Gosling and Evans' primary performances, some have questioned the success of the film's attempts to evoke an '80s vibe through cornball jokes and story beats.

It will be fascinating to watch how well The Gray Man does this year while competing with other popular action pictures like Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion.

When The Gray Man debuts on Netflix in late July, viewers will have their say on the film's premise and the action scenes set in Prague.

Difference Between Bond and Gray Man Roles, According to Ana De Armas

Some may accuse Ana de Armas of ripping off her Bond part in The Gray Man, but the actress insists that this is not the case.

Ana de Armas discusses her parts in The Gray Man and No Time to Die, contrasting the two films.

In the forthcoming action film The Gray Man directed by the Russo brothers and starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, De Armas plays the role of Dani Miranda.

De Armas portrayed Paloma in No Time to Die, which also starred Daniel Craig as James Bond and Rami Malek as Lyutsifer Safin.

In addition to Paloma and Dani, de Armas has played roles in films in which they fight.

The Night Clerk, Blade Runner 2049, and War Dogs are just a few of the films in which De Armas has appeared.

In the forthcoming John Wick prequel Ballerina, she will also portray a deadly killer.

De Armas has voiced concern about being typecast as an action actress despite the fact that the majority of her Hollywood résumé has been in the action genre.

To that end, de Armas would prefer that her female action protagonists from The Gray Man and No Time to Die not be grouped together.

There's "something extremely refreshing about" The Gray Man's Dani, according to de Armas, who spoke about her at a panel that Screen Rant covered.

Dani's "strength in a new manner" is emphasized in The Gray Man, she says, noting that she is not Gosling's love interest in the film as she has been in previous roles.

Read the entire passage from de Armas below here:

I can speak from personal experience on the subject.

I have already taken that step.

I looked the part, wore the heels, and did the damage as a badass female Bond villain.

But there's a nice change of pace in this one because that's not the point at all.

To clarify, I am not Ryan's romantic interest.

Yes, we've been there, too!

There, we said it.

[Laughs]
It's awesome, and it relates to her strength in a unique manner.

Put women in action films in that light and with that vision, and you'll help highlight the badass side of women.

The Gray Man is a CIA manhunt thriller, and while at first glance it would seem like de Armas is continuing work from No Time to Die, the actress dispels any such notions.

Despite the fact that both Dani and Paloma are female action stars, they should not be confused with one another.

The character of Paloma in No Time to Die has lately come under fire for being underdeveloped in the film, with some pointing out that she disappears from the movie just after a pivotal action scene.

If what de Armas says about The Gray Man is accurate, then at least Dani will be different from Paloma in that regard.

The accuracy of de Armas's assessment of Dani in light of her performance in No Time to Die is up in the air.

Early reviews of The Gray Man have been mixed, with many applauding the primary performances but also finding fault with the film's comedy and storylines. It will be fascinating to see how audiences react now that the picture is out in cinemas and will be available on Netflix in the next week.

To right previous wrongs toward female action actors, The Gray Man will feature Dani Miranda as a dynamic, forceful figure.

Hopefully, The Gray Man will live up to the promise of de Armas's remarks and provide a fascinating experience for its viewers.

Iman Vellani Confirms That Marvel Planted One Of The Avengers 4 Leaks

Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, has confirmed that a phony leak about Avengers: Endgame was released by Marvel Studios to confuse fans.

Casually clothed and having family time at home, Robert Downey Jr. portrays Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame.

Actress Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, has confirmed that the set leak from Avengers: Endgame was phony.

Marvel Studios is always on high alert for any potential spoiler leaks for its films.

But that increased exponentially in the run-up to the premiere of the fourth Avengers film in 2019.

One of the most anticipated films ever, Avengers: Endgame did not premiere until late December of 2019.

This is understandable in light of the events of Avengers: Infinity War, in which Thanos seemingly erased several important characters, including Black Panther and Spider-Man, with the snap of his fingers.

Since nothing was known about how this will be settled in Endgame, speculation among fans was already at a fever pitch.

With so much attention focused on the film, Marvel has had to be more watchful than usual to keep its secrets safe.

This may also be of interest: the "Endgame Theory" and "Why Iron Man Had to Die to Save the Universe."

In spite of Marvel's best efforts to keep the mysteries of Avengers: Endgame under wraps, certain details have spilled out.

However, at least one "leak" from the film has been proven to be a purposeful misdirecting performed by the company in an effort to confuse fans.

As seen in the space below, Ms. Marvel star Vellani recently participated in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit, where she casually mentioned an infamous Endgame set photo showing the apparent return of Tony Stark's BARF technology (first introduced in Captain America: Civil War and later revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home to have been invented by Mysterio).

According to her (through Games Radar),

"After the BARF case set photo leak, which turned out to be a total misdirection by Marvel security, I left the [Marvel Studios Spoilers] subreddit for two years during Infinity War/ Endgame.

That was deliberately put there!

And Marvel's security staff earned my utmost admiration."

On the set of Avengers: Endgame, a guy is seen chatting to Joe and Anthony Russo while holding an orange case with the words "Binary Augmented Retro Framing" affixed to the side.
The disclosure of information regarding the earlier leak may have prompted Marvel's security staff to approach Vellani.

No one should be surprised by Vellani's revelation that Marvel uses blatant deception to guard its secrets.

In interviews for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Andrew Garfield flat-out lied about his involvement with the film, only to later acknowledge that he loved the game of cat and mouse.

Kevin Smith once speculated that Marvel employs a "secret police" whose duty it is to ferret out leakers and, on occasion, engage in spreading fake information to throw fans off the path.

Even the MCU actors have felt the emotional impact of all the secrecy.

Emilia Clarke, who plays the lead role in Secret Invasion, recently revealed that she is terrified to reveal any secrets and joked that she thinks an undercover Marvel security agent is staked out in front of her house.

Some of this is humorous and may be enjoyed by anybody with an appreciation for movies as pure forms of entertainment.

However, the concept of Marvel security spreading real lies has a certain cloak-and-dagger air to it that borders on evil.

It's no surprise that Marvel would go to such extremes to preserve their secrets, what with the millions of dollars at risk in movies like Avengers: Endgame and all other MCU productions.

Due to Vellani's disclosure, audiences will have to exercise caution when evaluating the veracity of any future reports purporting to come from Marvel Studios.

Marvel's Thor: The Secret History of Love and Thunder Disproves Any and All Return of Iron Man Theories

In Thor 4, the God-Butcher Gorr desires for his daughter Love's life back, but this exposes that not even Eternity can bring Tony Stark back to life.

Theories about Iron Man's return will be put to rest in Thor: Ragnarok.

This article includes major plot points from the movie Thor: Love and Thunder.

Subtly killing any prospects of reviving Tony Stark as fans know and love him is Gorr's daughter Love, who gets brought back via Eternity in the Thor: Love and Thunder conclusion.

The existence of Love, a godlike perspective of Young Avenger, effectively eliminates the chance of a comeback for any of the original Avengers who perished.

Thor: Love and Thunder demonstrate how complicated it may be to want someone back from the dead.

Death has always been a fickle mistress in the MCU, which is why fans are constantly proposing new ideas regarding the rebirth of deceased heroes.

Immediately following Thanos's infamous Infinity Gauntlet snap, Hulk and Tony used their own Nano Gauntlets to undo the damage and restore the lives of billions of people, including Doctor Strange, Yelena, Spider-Man, and many others.

Christine, Stephen Strange's ex-girlfriend and the love of his life, is doomed to die in some universe but lives in another in Doctor Strange 2.

That's why many people think Jane's death in Thor 4 is just temporary and why they hold out hope for the return of Tony Stark and Natasha Romanov.

After all, the MCU allows trips to various afterlife destinations like Valhalla, Heaven, and Hell, and the cosmic deities that preside over death are amenable to bargaining and even defeat.

Tony, Nat, and even Thanos are guaranteed to be alive and well somewhere in the cosmos.

Associated: Thor: Love & Thunder.

Embedded Marvel and Easter Eggs

Even in the fanciful narrative lines of MCU Phase 4, however, Eternity has its boundaries, as evidenced by Thor 4's resurrection of Love.

When Gorr grants Love a second chance by spending his one wish on her, what he gets is not Love but rather an incarnation of Eternity who looks and acts like Love but has godlike abilities.

Eternity's djinn-like twist — Earth-199999 itself restoring equilibrium after Gorr's murderous crimes — is more in keeping with Gorr's wishes than the idea of Love gaining cosmic powers, given his contempt for the gods.

Nothing, not even Eternity, could bring back the real Natasha and Tony from the dead, not without a similar twist that would effectively make them new personalities entirely, as seen by what happened to Gorr the God Butcher, who was transformed into Thor's daughter.

A return for Iron Man or Black Widow would need alternate realities, but a return for Jane and Heimdall from Valhalla would be more realistic.

There is no way for Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man to come back from the grave.

Avengers: Endgame features Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Iron Man.

For many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, the idea of Tony Stark returning from the grave as himself is incomprehensible, both from a storytelling perspective and in light of the canonical guidelines of the MCU.

According to Doctor Strange, the only version in which Earth triumphs in the Infinity War is the one in which Tony dies and sacrifices himself.

Tony Stark isn't a deity like many of his Thor: Love and Thunder co-stars, but he nevertheless forged his own destiny and legacy to reach this point in Avengers: Endgame.

There is never any direct confirmation of this, but given the nature of how Tony dies, it is reasonable to assume that his passing marks a discrete epoch, a pivotal junction in the Sacred Timeline.

To bring Tony Stark back from the dead, one could have to face a version of Kang the Conqueror or deal with Death.

No one knows how many other versions of Iron Man exist in the cosmos, but Thor: Love and Thunder proves that Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark can never really come back from the grave.

One or more of these Iron Man versions may make their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut around the time Thor 5 is published.

In addition to his charm and heroic efforts, Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe features one of the most full and flawless plot arcs in the history of the superhero genre.

Because of this, speculations regarding Tony's possible comeback are groundless.

With each new Marvel film, though, the idea that Tom Cruise will one day appear in the MCU as Tony Stark from another timeline seems more plausible.

In-Depth Information About The Gray Man 2

The Gray Man has the potential to become a hit-action film series on Netflix.

In this article, we will discuss the current state of The Gray Man 2 and whether or not a sequel is in the works.

Everything We Know About The Gray Man 2

Spoilers ahead for The Gray Man.

The second season of The Gray Man on Netflix depends on a number of circumstances.

The Gray Man, an international secret agent action-thriller directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and based on the novels of Mark Greaney, stars Ryan Gosling as Sierra Six.

After discovering proof of widespread wrongdoing inside the CIA, Six becomes the target of both the psychopathic murderer Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) and his own agency.

Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton, Julia Butters, Jessica Henwick, and Regé-Jean Page also have roles in The Gray Man.

The Gray Man is a geopolitical spy film meant to follow in the footsteps of James Bond, Jason Bourne, and Tom Clancy, but with even more intense action sequences.

In The Gray Man, Page plays the CIA director, Denny Carmichael, and his partner, Suzanne Brewer, who are at the center of a huge conspiracy within the agency (Henwick).

Six needs to safeguard Claire (Butters), the young niece of his mentor Donald Fitzroy, from Hansen, who has been sent to assassinate Six and bring back an amulet he acquired called "the Asset," which carries the proof to bring Carmichael's dictatorship down (Thornton).

Bangkok, Vienna, Berlin, Prague, Croatia, and Washington, D.C. are all set ablaze by The Gray Man's explosive action as Six fights his way through a horde of foes.

It's clear that Netflix is positioning The Gray Man to become the next big action movie franchise.

The universe of lies, treachery, and brutality established in The Gray Man is intended to be continued by the Russo Brothers and their screenwriting collaborators, Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, in their adaptations of many books written by Mark Greaney.

Read on to find out everything that has been learned about the upcoming sequel to The Gray Man.
What about a sequel to The Gray Man?

Man of Gray Six in Prague

A second season of The Gray Man has not been approved by Netflix.

The Russo Brothers have stated that they want to gauge public reaction to The Gray Man before making any decisions on a potential sequel.

In the meanwhile, Netflix will evaluate internal indicators like the total number of hours seen by subscribers of The Gray Man to make a decision on whether or not to add another season.

Success for The Gray Man will be compared to that of other Netflix hits including Red Notice, Don't Look Up, and The Adam Project.

Who Should Be In The Gray Man 2?

Man in Gray

Six Claire

Unfortunately, not everyone makes it.

Aside from The Gray Man, many of the performers from the huge ensemble cast the Russos created may return for a second installment.

The protagonist, played by Ryan Gosling, would be back, as would the antagonists, Regé-Jean Page and Jessica Henwick's CIA agents.

Claire, played by Julia Butters, and Dani Miranda, played by Ana de Armas, would both return.

If The Gray Man 2 is a prequel or employs flashbacks, both Chris Evans' Lloyd Hansen and Billy Bob Thornton's Fitzroy might return.

Synopsis of Gray Man 2: How the First Film Sets the Stage

In a nutshell, Dani Carmichael

If Sierra Six fails to bring down the shadow government within the CIA that The Gray Man has put up, the bad guys will be ready to begin their quest for The Gray Man.

In The Gray Man's climactic scene, Six and Claire successfully escape from the custody of Brewer and Carmichael.

Six may have to teach Claire the ways of the Gray Man if they are to stay alive, while Dani may decide to take on her corrupt superiors inside the CIA.

The Gray Man constructs a world with much room for continuation.
For the Same Reasons, Paloma by Ana de Armas Ought to Come Back (But Not In Bond 26)

Expected Date for the Second The Gray Man Film to Come Out

Grey Man Evans Henwick

The Russo Brothers have no plans to immediately begin production on a sequel to The Gray Man.

Later in 2022, the Russo Brothers will begin filming The Electric State, a science fiction thriller starring Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown.

The Russo Brothers might have The Gray Man 2 ready by 2024 at the earliest if Netflix gives the go-ahead.

The Russo Brothers' Work on "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Endgame" Was Physically Taxing on Them

The Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony, discuss the most challenging aspect of filming the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbusters Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame simultaneously.

The Mad Titan, Thanos, in the Avengers: Infinity War

Joe and Anthony Russo discuss the physical toll of making Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

After the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, the directorial pair moved on to pursue projects under their own firm, AGBO Films, outside of the MCU.

After the success of the previous two Avengers films, it's safe to assume that the Wachowski brothers will always be connected with the Marvel Cinematic Universe as two of the studio's most important directors.

The Russo Brothers worked with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The trio had previously worked together on Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

Because of their outstanding work with a large cast in the 2016 Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. MCU blockbuster, Marvel Studios decided to hire the duo to direct the Infinity Saga capstone films.

But it helped that there were two of them sharing the directorship of Infinity War and Endgame, as working on both movies back-to-back was so laborious, in addition to their ability to write a balanced tale and their extensive awareness of the MCU.

The Russians themselves have acknowledged the effort required.

Thor's Marvel Cinematic Universe Finale Has One Use

This Ending to Iron Man Did Not Work At All

The Russo Brothers were recently questioned about the challenges of filming Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame consecutively in a new interview with GQ, in which they discuss their most memorable works to date.

Anthony Russo says honestly that the long days of filming made it tough on everyone.

Although he claims he would never do it again, he acknowledges that the movie' unconventional shooting schedule forced them to rethink their approach creatively.

Please read his whole statement below:

Well, that certainly isn't healthy.

Yes, unquestionably.

Yes, it was a challenge.

In the end, I think we all thought, "Oh, we'll never film two movies like that, back-to-back again."

It's quite demanding and tough.

But take a look at how Joe was expressing how we like to always be rewriting, and you'll see that this really does allow for a major interaction between what we're doing in the two movies and for us to be moving back and forth artistically.

And I believe that was a tremendous, very rare creative chance in the narrative.
Since Infinity War and Endgame were so intertwined (despite Marvel Studios' stance on the topic), any shifts made by the Russos during filming would have had repercussions for the other film.

They were able to do more by shooting consecutive days.

It's clear to argue that it would have been difficult for a single director to handle both projects in the time allotted.

Joe would take charge of the shots while Anthony would oversee the dailies and figure out the rough cuts over different weeks of production.

Sometimes they'd have to speed things up on set by supervising many filming units at once.

Curiously, the Russo Brothers have shown an interest in making a Marvel Cinematic Universe film set around the Secret Wars era.

When the time comes for a Marvel Studios adaptation, the filmmakers acknowledge that the picture will need to be larger than both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

It's possible that they'll beg for more time to shoot or maybe split the two-part Secret Wars film into two parts with a break in between.

Report Claims Former Disney CEO Regrets Choosing Bob Chapek

According to a recent story, former Disney CEO Bob Iger now regrets his decision to name Bob Chapek as his successor and feels it was handled poorly.

Reply to "Bob Chapek"

Mr. Bob Iger of Disney

A recent story suggests that former Disney CEO Bob Iger now views the decision to replace him with Bob Chapek as one of the worst of his career.

Starting as President of ABC Television from 1994–1995 and working his way through the ranks until he succeeded Michael Eisner as CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, Iger was instrumental in the company's ascension to Hollywood dominance over the preceding three decades.

Iger oversaw Disney's $7.4 billion purchase of Toy Story animator Pixar, $4 billion purchase of Marvel Entertainment in 2009, $4.06 billion purchase of Lucasfilm in 2012, and $71.3 billion purchase of 21st Century Fox before he left.

With the introduction of Disney+ and the conclusion of his term in 2021, Iger has announced his retirement from his roles as CEO and chairman of Disney.

It was reported that Bob Chapek, who had previously served as chairman for several studio divisions such as Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, would succeed Iger as CEO, while Iger would remain with the company as an executive and board chairman to support Chapek with the transition.

Iger and Chapek's transfer of power may not have gone as smoothly as planned.

According to a recent article in Business Insider, former Disney CEO Bob Iger is not happy with Chapek's hiring.

The COVID-19 outbreak and pressure from the studio's board of executives prompted Iger to seek to expedite the process of handing over the reins to the studio, according to sources close to the matter.

As the pandemic began badly impacting Disney's plans and Chapek began making big restructuring plans, Iger allegedly began regretting his choice within weeks of its release.

"Star Wars"

Reply to "Bob Chapek"
Since Chapek took over as CEO of Disney, the company has been the target of constant criticism from both outsiders and individuals working for Disney.

While there has been a generally good reaction to Disney's efforts to provide material to audiences via Disney+ in the middle of the current COVID-19 outbreak, Pixar employees have voiced their displeasure with Disney+'s exclusive streaming releases of films like Luca and Turning Red.

In addition, Scarlett Johansson's lawsuit against Disney over the simultaneous release of Black Widow generated a deluge of the unfavorable press as the two parties lashed out at one other.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek has been under fire for the company's muted reaction to Florida's "Don't Say Gay" statute and subsequent attempts to explain the studio's decision to stay out of the controversy, despite the positive public perception of the company in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Eventually, Chapek issued an apology for his early responses to the law and announced payments to LGBTQ+ foundations and a halt to donations to political parties in Florida, which may have helped his reputation, but many still deem his decision-making suspect.

It remains to be seen whether Iger's dissatisfaction with Chapek's tenure as Disney CEO will arise despite the fact that Chapek just received a contract extension.

Marvel Producer Shares Exciting Filming Update on Captain America 4

Marvel producer Nate Moore has provided an intriguing update on the filming of Captain America 4, confirming that filming will begin in the spring and promising a wonderful screenplay.

For The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie plays the role.

Marvel producer Nate Moore has announced some great casting and directing news for the upcoming film Captain America: New World Order.
The forthcoming MCU film will pick up where Disney+'s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left off, with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) accepting the shield and shield-wielding duties previously held by Captain America (Chris Evans).
The film's momentum started building this past summer when news of its cast and director emerged from San Diego Comic-Con, and now one of the producers behind it has provided even more insight into the project. Development on Captain America: New World Order was announced shortly after the show's finale.

When talking to Collider about his new film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, actor Nate Moore also discussed the making of Captain America: New World Order.
The MCU sequel will begin filming on the originally announced date, as confirmed by the MCU producer, who also expressed the studio's full support for the project.
Just look at what Moore wrote down below:

We've now entered the pre-production phase.
Next year in the spring, we will begin filming.
Yes, [we have a script that we're proud of].

Moore's assurance that filming on Captain America: New World Order will begin in the spring is consistent with director Julius Onah's prior comments on the topic, which suggested that filming would begin at the beginning of the year.
Known for his work on The Cloverfield Paradox and Luce, Onah was announced as the director of the MCU sequel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The film will be based on a screenplay written by Malcolm Spellman (who also wrote The Falcon and The Winter Soldier) and Dalan Musson (who wrote the show).
Tim Blake Nelson returns to the MCU for the first time since The Incredible Hulk as the film's antagonist, The Leader, and the event also announced that Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly will reprise their roles as Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley from the Disney+ series.

After William Hurt's untimely passing earlier this year, one of the more intriguing developments in Captain America: New World Order has been the casting of Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross.
It had been speculated that Ford might enter the MCU for the Thunderbolts film, but it wasn't until later that reputable sources began saying he would show up in the Mackie-led sequel.
This past October, it was announced that Ford will be taking up the role in Thunderbolts and going up against Sam in Captain America: New World Order.

Shira Haas's casting as Sabra in Captain America: New World Order has also been met with criticism due to questions raised about the nature of her comic book and political links.
Marvel has come out in support of the casting, saying that they would be "freshly imagining" Sabra for a modern audience and adopting a new approach to the character.
When Captain America: New World Order opens in cinemas on May 3, 2024, only time will tell if the puzzle pieces fit together.
