Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, has confirmed that a phony leak about Avengers: Endgame was released by Marvel Studios to confuse fans.
Casually clothed and having family time at home, Robert Downey Jr. portrays Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame.
Actress Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, has confirmed that the set leak from Avengers: Endgame was phony.
Marvel Studios is always on high alert for any potential spoiler leaks for its films.
But that increased exponentially in the run-up to the premiere of the fourth Avengers film in 2019.
One of the most anticipated films ever, Avengers: Endgame did not premiere until late December of 2019.
This is understandable in light of the events of Avengers: Infinity War, in which Thanos seemingly erased several important characters, including Black Panther and Spider-Man, with the snap of his fingers.
Since nothing was known about how this will be settled in Endgame, speculation among fans was already at a fever pitch.
With so much attention focused on the film, Marvel has had to be more watchful than usual to keep its secrets safe.

In spite of Marvel's best efforts to keep the mysteries of Avengers: Endgame under wraps, certain details have spilled out.
However, at least one "leak" from the film has been proven to be a purposeful misdirecting performed by the company in an effort to confuse fans.
As seen in the space below, Ms. Marvel star Vellani recently participated in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit, where she casually mentioned an infamous Endgame set photo showing the apparent return of Tony Stark's BARF technology (first introduced in Captain America: Civil War and later revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home to have been invented by Mysterio).
According to her (through Games Radar),
"After the BARF case set photo leak, which turned out to be a total misdirection by Marvel security, I left the [Marvel Studios Spoilers] subreddit for two years during Infinity War/ Endgame.
That was deliberately put there!
And Marvel's security staff earned my utmost admiration."
On the set of Avengers: Endgame, a guy is seen chatting to Joe and Anthony Russo while holding an orange case with the words "Binary Augmented Retro Framing" affixed to the side.
The disclosure of information regarding the earlier leak may have prompted Marvel's security staff to approach Vellani.
No one should be surprised by Vellani's revelation that Marvel uses blatant deception to guard its secrets.
In interviews for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Andrew Garfield flat-out lied about his involvement with the film, only to later acknowledge that he loved the game of cat and mouse.
Kevin Smith once speculated that Marvel employs a "secret police" whose duty it is to ferret out leakers and, on occasion, engage in spreading fake information to throw fans off the path.
Even the MCU actors have felt the emotional impact of all the secrecy.
Emilia Clarke, who plays the lead role in Secret Invasion, recently revealed that she is terrified to reveal any secrets and joked that she thinks an undercover Marvel security agent is staked out in front of her house.
Some of this is humorous and may be enjoyed by anybody with an appreciation for movies as pure forms of entertainment.
However, the concept of Marvel security spreading real lies has a certain cloak-and-dagger air to it that borders on evil.
It's no surprise that Marvel would go to such extremes to preserve their secrets, what with the millions of dollars at risk in movies like Avengers: Endgame and all other MCU productions.
Due to Vellani's disclosure, audiences will have to exercise caution when evaluating the veracity of any future reports purporting to come from Marvel Studios.
