The animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has merch that provides new information about Peter B. Parker and Spider-Man 2099 across -spider-verse-merch
Details about the characters and plot of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have been revealed on newly released items.
The animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Miles Morales' Spider-Man (voiced by Shamiek Moore) dealing with the consequences of the Spider-Verse opening and the arrival of Spider-People from multiple realms in the sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man/Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), one of those Spider-People, becomes a mentor to Morales, helping him establish himself in his own Spider-Verse, before returning to his own universe at the end of the first film.
The third installment, titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is the sequel to the first film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
The first one comes out in 2023, and the second one in 2024, and they both star Moore, Johnson, and a horde of other actors like Oscar Isaac (Spider-Man 2099), Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Gwen), Issa Rae (Jessica Drew), Bryan Tyree Henry (Jefferson Davis), Shea Whigham (George Stacy), Jorma Taccone (Vulture), and Jason Schwartzman ( (The Spot).
Both sequels, written by Chris Miller, Phil Lord, and Dave Callaham, will be directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.
In light of the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse next year (via ComicBook), a plethora of new gear has begun hitting shelves, providing fans with a closer peek at the film's plot and characters.
One of the new items of merchandise has the tagline "Peter B. Parker is trapped between wanting to defend old buddy Miles and side with his more experienced Spider-Man comrade" on the back of the package.
There will undoubtedly be tensions between Parker, Morales, and Miguel O'Hara, alias Spider-Man 2099, as a result of this.
On the opposite side of the package, it says, "Miguel O'Hara sought to modify the DNA of past Spider-People and mistakenly made himself into the best Spider-Man in the Multi-Verse."
This seems more like a character summary for Spider-Man 2099, given how closely it links to his comic book roots and how probable it is to transfer similarly in Across the Spider-Verse.
In Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man 2099 makes use of his spider powers.
Spider-Man 2099 was teased to play a greater part in Across the Spider-Verse than any other character in the film when he debuted in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
In the previews so far, Spider-Man 2099 has played a significant role, and he has been seen to use the "goober" on his wrist to teleport rapidly between dimensions.
That's a given to be a major factor in introducing Miles Morales and Peter B. Parker to the plot, but beyond the fact that The Spot is one of the antagonists, not much more has been confirmed.
Even though the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is still a year away, fans are already immersed in a year's worth of speculation thanks to the steady drip of hints provided by trailers and merchandising.
Many fans consider the first Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to be the finest Spider-Man movie ever made, even better than the live-action movies.
As Parker, O'Hara, and Morales continue their adventures in the animated universe of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the introduction of a fresh dispute between them should make for an entertaining dynamic.
