Black Adam 2 is unknown at DC Studios despite Dwayne Johnson's promotion of Superman's return and his position in the DCU.
Black Adam features Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Teth Adam, who floats far above the city (2022)
There is some doubt that DC Studios would greenlight a sequel to Black Adam due to reservations about the film's financial performance and the fact that Dwayne Johnson failed to win over management.
On October 21, Black Adam debuted, making Johnson's Teth-Adam (a.k.a. Black Adam) casting official after the character had been linked to him since 2014.
Furthermore, Superman (Henry Cavill) returned to the big screen for the first time in five years in the film's post-credit sequence.
For this reason, many saw this as a setup for a Black Adam sequel in which Superman would finally have his revenge.
According to THR, DC Studios is no longer considering making a sequel to "Black Adam."
The success of the picture at the box office is a primary factor.
Despite generating $385 million at the box office, the picture featured a costly budget of $190 - $230 million.
With the budget, the extra expenses, and the profit split, Black Adam will, at most, only generate a little profit, certainly not enough to warrant a sequel.
Also, Johnson's attempts to take matters into his own hands by disputing Black Adam's box office reports and maintaining that his and Cavill's future positions in the DC are a done thing, supposedly haven't been well-received by management.
Many changes are on the horizon for DC, including the possibility that a sequel to Black Adam won't be made.
Fans had been promised a Black Adam versus. Superman film by Johnson after the release of Black Adam, since the concept behind the character, was to battle Black Adam against Superman.
But there are some disturbing changes in Black Adam 2 and Man of Steel 2.
Wonder Woman 3 has apparently been canceled, and many speculate that DC's new plan under co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran would also result in the cancellation of Man of Steel 2.
After Black Adam, it was speculated that a sequel will be made.
Black Adam vs. Superman seems even less likely if the rumors about Black Adam 2 being cancelled and Cavill's Superman not being a part of DC's new future are accurate.
Reasons Why The Black Adam 2 Can Still Work In The New DCU
Black Adam stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
In Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson plays the title role.
The DCU is experiencing radical changes, and one of them may be the retirement of several heroes from the previous administration.
Black Adam 2 may still operate within the parameters, though.
Despite the fact that Superman and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) haven't played prominent roles in the DCU in years, Black Adam is still new and exciting to viewers.
Another element that might lead to Black Adam 2 is Safran's status as co-CEO.
He not only serves as co-CEO but also as the film producer, for Shazam!
Deity-level wrath.
This might suggest that Shazam (Zachary Levi) will continue to be a part of Safran's long-term plans.
With Shazam and Black Adam being bitter enemies, it's possible that a Black Adam sequel will be made if both Shazam 2 and Safran's plans for the future of the DCU pan out.
Finally, Johnson's dedication to the project is encouraging since it means he won't give up on Black Adam 2 easily.
The fate of Black Adam is still up in the air; nevertheless, it is currently being seen as unlikely.
