After her remarkable debut as Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Hawkeye," Hailee Steinfeld opens up about what lies ahead for her character and the potential Young Avengers team.
Having joined the MCU in Phase 4 as Kate, a significant new hero who carries on the Hawkeye legacy alongside Clint Barton, Steinfeld and her on-screen partner have not been seen in the MCU since their Disney+ series. Meanwhile, other Young Avengers have been making their way into the franchise, leaving fans curious about the payoff for the setup.
During a recent interview with the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, the talented actress was asked about the plans for the Young Avengers, and Steinfeld admits that even she is unsure of what's in store for her character:
While Marvel Studios hasn't officially announced a Young Avengers project, it's not hard to imagine that Kate and the next-generation heroes of the MCU will eventually join forces. It's possible that the studio wants to continue developing these newer heroes individually before bringing them together as one of Marvel's most beloved teams. This raises the question of where Kate might reappear next, whether it be in a film or another series within the MCU.
Unless Steinfeld has secretly filmed something she cannot disclose, fans may have to wait until Phase 6 to see Kate again. It wouldn't be surprising if her next appearance is in either "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" or "Avengers: Secret Wars," considering the grand scale of these upcoming Avengers films. It seems logical for Kate to stand alongside the rest of the MCU heroes in such monumental productions.
Given the overwhelmingly positive response to Kate's introduction in the MCU, it is genuinely surprising that she hasn't appeared in any other projects since her debut in "Hawkeye" back in 2021. Her journey is just beginning, and fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Kate's story unfold in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while also inching closer to the long-awaited union of the Young Avengers in live-action.
