According to Robert Patrick, James Gunn or James Cameron is the most entertaining director.

Actor Robert Patrick, well known for his roles in Terminator 2 and Peacemaker, tells who of James Cameron and James Gunn was the most enjoyable to work with.

Robert Patrick, who starred in Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Peacemaker, discusses which director he enjoys working with the most: James Cameron or James Gunn.

Of the two, Patrick was most recognized for his performance in Cameron's Terminator 2 as the T-1000.

Cameron was able to push the frontiers of VFX with the T-1000 Terminator model since it was constructed of liquid metal, and the character's demeanor was heavily reliant on Patrick's athletic yet robotic performance.

In the film Peacemaker, Patrick plays the father of John Cena's lead character.

Reuniting on screen for the first time since 2006's WWE film The Marine, the two actors featured in Peacemaker, which was written and directed by Gunn.

On top of being a racist and homophobic criminal mastermind, Auggie Smith is also a supervillain in Peacemaker who goes by the moniker White Dragon.

As a follow-up, Walking Dead's latest Terminator cameo references Robert Patrick's episode.

Patrick took part in a rapid-fire Q&A session at the end of the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast.

After he was asked a pointed question regarding two of the biggest filmmakers he's worked with, Cameron and Gunn: which director is more enjoyable to work with?

In response to Rosenbaum's comment that Gunn was the more enjoyable director, Patrick said, "Just like that!"

Copland, T2, and Walk the Line all appear in this portrait of Robert Patrick.

Considering Patrick's link to his Terminator 2: Judgement Day villain and Cameron's film, his answer is quite fascinating.

Patrick reprised his role as the T-1000 in Universal Studios' T2 3-D: Battle Across Time ride and had a brief appearance in John McTiernan's Last Action Hero outside of Terminator 2.

That said, Patrick hasn't worked with Cameron again since Terminator 2, but that doesn't mean he didn't appreciate working with the filmmaker as much as he did.

After working with Gunn, Patrick's Peacemaker character was killed off in the season 1 finale, although working with Gunn certainly had an effect on him during the few episodes they worked on (at least in terms of "fun").

From Die Hard 2 through Terminator 2, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and everything in between, Patrick has been a very distinctive presence in Hollywood over the previous three decades.

It's not a slight on Cameron that Gunn would be more enjoyable to work with, despite the fact that Hollywood rarely indulges in favoritism.

Since Cameron is recognized for his technical prowess and lack of frills, it stands to reason that Gunn, despite his similarly serious demeanor, would be a better fit for the project.

In light of what is known about James Gunn and James Cameron's approaches to filmmaking, Patrick's clear statement appears totally sensible.
